I don’t usually work on Sundays and I don’t book more than one wedding on a weekend but when I met Morgan in a video chat, she convinced me to break my own rules! That big, warm smile and kind heart just won me over and she convinced me that I was the photographer for her! Then when I met the reserved Christian, I was sold. How could I say no to such a sweet couple whom, under all the restrictions, just wanted to pledge their commitment in an intimate setting of close family and friends.
Better still, it was at the Water Valley Church Event Centre, that has a charm all of its own that just keeps me coming back for more and more amazing, natural light ceremonies. I have seen it set up a dozen ways and no matter how my couples decorate, the venue is just stunning.
I met Morgan and her ladies that morning in the suite of the Ramada in Cochrane, which had a ton of space and big natural light windows. A fabulous getting ready room.
We met up with the bridal party for a first look between bride and groom at Cochrane Ranche. Is it such a pretty little portrait spot that has always paid off for any session I’ve shot there.
Just a short 30 minute drive from Cochrane to the historic Water Valley Church, best wedding venue in the Calgary region, and Morgan got to have a first look with her dad before kicking off the ceremony and all those “I do’s”.
A few weeks before the wedding took place, the bride and groom decided to cancel a postponed reception and go all out on the day. At the last minute they decided on the iconic Heritage Park. What an amazing sunset location for wedding photography in Calgary! I think it was my most epic sunset on a wedding day for 2021! Who knew what an awesome view awaited us.

Congratulations to my last newly weds of summer 2021! What an amazing wrap on another great season of being a Calgary Wedding Photographer. It is literally the best job in the world to witness special moments like these. Not to mention the awesome people I get to meet!
